2007 wird die erste Demo Nuclear Holocaust in Angriff genommen, die zuhause bei Gitarrist Pfefferle aufgenommen und produziert wird. Im Metal Hammer wird die Demo positiv angenommen. Im März 2007 siegt PESSIMIST beim Blood Battle Contest in Lörrach und eröffnet somit das Baden in Blut Open Air Festival im Lörracher Grütt Park. Die Band teilt sich u.a. die Bühne mit "Legion of the Damned".

Nach dem Ausstieg des Gitarristen Robin Maurer wird dessen Platz durch Richard "Richie" Beck im November 2007 eingenommen.

In dieser Zeit werden hauptsächlich Konzerte in Süddeutschland, der Schweiz und Österreich gegeben.

Die Demo "Pessimist" wird in Österreich im Heimstudio der Band Destruction of Violence" aufgenommen und produziert.

Im September 2008 fährt die Band mit einem selbst-organisierten Reisebus und 45 Fans aus der Regio nach Bietigheim-Bissingen (nahe Stuttgart) für einen Auftritt auf dem Thrash 'em Down Festival.

Bei einem Live Konzert im Metal Café in Lörrach wird die Live-CD "Live im SAK" mitgeschnitten und später in kleiner Stückzahl aufgelegt.

Das Debüt-Album Call to War wird Ende 2009 bei Chrsitoph Brandes im Iguana Studio (Zusammenarbeit u. a. mit "Necrophagist", "Unlight", etc.) aufgenommen und produziert. Ohne Label veröffentlicht und vertreibt PESSIMIST das Album selbst. Eine erste Auflage von 500 CDs wird gepresst und bei der Release Party im März 2010 präsentiert und verkauft. Während der Release Party in Basel trifft ein Freund der Band zufälligerweise Marc Halupczok (Till Burgwächter, Journalist und freier Mitarbeiter beim Metal Hammer) in Lörrach, der dort sein aktuelles Buch vorstellt und von ihm ein Exemplar von Call to War erhält.

Ein paar Wochen später meldet sich Marc Halupczok und bietet PESSIMIST einen Vertriebsvertrag für Call to War bei Firefield Records und dem Twilight Mailorder an. In Folge werden mehrere Konzerte in der Schweiz und Österreich gegeben. Im November 2010 hat PESSIMIST die Ehre, das Metal Forces Festival zu eröffnen, bei welchem die Bühne unter anderen mit "Diamond Head", "Blitzkrieg" und "Chrystal Viper" geteilt wird.

Am 10. Dezember 2010 wird Call to War unter Firefield Records veröffentlicht und erhält viele positive Rezensionen. Zum ersten Mal wird PESSIMIST auch international bekannt und als eine der neuen Thrash-Metal Newcomer gepriesen.

Im Juni 2011 verlässt Schlagzeuger Raphael "Zagge" Gamboni die Band und begibt sich auf eine Weltreise. Er wird durch Daniel "Zufi" Zuflucht ersetzt. Aus beruflichen und persönlichen Gründen verlässt Gitarrist Patrick "Peppi" Pfefferle die Band im Mai 2012. Dessen Platz nimmt "Tormentor" Eric Tobian ein.

Es werden deutschlandweit Konzerte gegeben, hauptsächlich in Norddeutschland, z. B. in Braunschweig, Oldenburg und Magdeburg.

Sehr viel Zeit wird im Proberaum verbracht, um die Songs für das neue Album Death from Above auszuarbeiten und einzustudieren. Im November 2012 werden für das neue Album die Aufnahmen und die Produktion wieder bei Christoph Brandes im Iguana Studio durchgeführt.

Am 23. März 2013 wird das neue Album bei der CD-Release-Show in Haltingen präsentiert. PESSIMIST darf sich freuen, dass Regio-Metal-Bands mit Rang und Namen an diesem Event teilnehmen.

Weitere Konzerte folgen, darunter ein Auftritt auf dem Beastival in Geiselwind mit den "Big Teutonic Four" ("Kreator", "Sodom", "Destruction" & "Tankard") und eine Headliner-Show in Belgien.

Im Februar 2015 verlassen Bassist Severin "Sevi" Wössner und Gitarrist Richard "Richie" Beck die Band. Auf der CD-Release-Show von Deaf Aid in Freiburg wird ihr Abschiedskonzert gespielt. Ihr Platz wird von Bassist Samuel "Samu" Maier und Gitarrist Jürgen "Schmidle" Schmid eingenommen.

The first demo Nuclear Holocaust is recorded in 2007 at the home of guitarist Pfefferle.

Positive feedback is given by the Metal Hammer music magazine. PESSIMIST wins the Blood Battle Contest in Lörrach in March 2007 and has the honour to open up the Baden in Blut Open Air Festival. The band shares the stage with many bands, for example with "Legion of the Damned".

Guitarist Robin Maurer leaves the band in November 2007 and is replaced by Richard "Richie" Beck.

Concerts are mainly being played in southern Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The self titled demo Pessimist is home recorded in Austria with the help of "Destruction of Violence".

In September 2008, the band organizes a bus for 45 fans, for a show at the Thrash 'em Down Festival in Bietigheim-Bissingen (near Stuttgart).

The live CD "Live im SAK" is recorded during a concert in Lörrach. A small amount of copies are made.

The debut album Call to War is being recorded and produced by Christoph Brandes in the Iguana Studio (also worked with "Necrophagist", "Unlight", etc.) in late 2009. The album is released and distributed without a label. A first production of 500 CDs is pressed and presented and sold at the release party in March 2010. During the release party a friend of the band coincidentally meets Marc Halupczok (Till Burgwächter, journalist and freelance worker at Metal Hammer) by chance and hands him a copy of Call to War.

Marc Halupczok contacts PESSIMIST a few weeks later and offers a label contract for Call to War with the collaboration of Firefield Records and Twilight Mailorder. Several concerts are being played in Austria and Switzerland.

PESSIMIST has the honour to start off the Metal Forces Festival in November 2010, where the stage is shared with bands like "Diamond Head", "Blitzkrieg" and "Chrystal Viper". On the 10th December of 2010 Call to War is released via Firefield Records and receives a lot of positive reviews. For the first time PESSIMIST gets known internationally and is praised as one of the thrash metal newcomers.

Drummer Raphael "Zagge" Gamboni leaves the band in June 2011 and starts a trip around the world. Daniel "Zufi" Zuflucht replaces him. Because of professional and personal reasons guitarist Patrick "Peppi" Pfefferle leaves the band in May 2012. "Tormentor" Eric Tobian takes his place.

Concerts are being played in Germany, primarily in the north, for example in Braunschweig, Oldenburg and Magdeburg.

A lot of time is spent to rehearse and prepare the new songs for the second album Death from Above. In November 2012 the recordings and the production are again accomplished in the Iguana Studio of Christoph Brandes.

The new album is presented at the CD-Release-Show in Haltingen on the 23rd March of 2013. PESSIMIST is pleased that popular and known local metal bands are part of this event.

Several concerts are played including a performance at the Beastival in Geiselwind supporting the "Big Teutonic Four" ("Kreator", "Sodom", "Destruction" & "Tankard") and a headliner show in Belgium.

Bassist Severin "Sevi" Wössner and guitarist Richard "Richie" Beck leave the band in Febrauary 2015. They play their farewell concert at the CD-Release-Show of Deaf Aid in Freiburg. Bassist Samuel "Samu" Maier and guitarist Jürgen "Schmidle" Schmid take their place.

After struggling with many line up changes, Myrdhin "Murphy" Lange takes the place of guitarist Jürgen "Schmidle" Schmid in 2016 and Jan Hagin replaces Daniel "Zufi" Zuflucht at the drums in 2018. Those constant line up changes where the biggest challanges PESSIMIST had to meet so far, but with persistence and conviction new music is written.

In late 2019 PESSIMIST enters the mighty Iguana Studios for the third time in their career to produce a long-awaited third record.
